Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation is pushing for its entry into the global cosmetic market by using its biodegradable suture technology.

Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation will participate in International Master Course on Aging Science (IMCAS) Paris 2020 held in Paris, France from January 30 to February 1 and unveil the lift suture brand croquis, which the company has proprietarily developed. The lift suture is a medical absorbable suture used in a procedure designed to improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles.

Based on its biodegradable suture technology accumulated for 25 years, Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation developed croquis last year, which ensured safety based on scientific data, and obtained CE (Conformité Européenne) in May. CE means that all directives by the Council of the European Union (EU) in regards to safety, health, environment, and consumer protection have been satisfied, and any product related to consumer safety must obtain CE before it is allowed to be sold in the EU market. 

The brand name croquis comes from a drawing technique of the same name which quickly sketches the characteristics of a model. It means that Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation’s croquis naturally adjusts the outline of a face and brings out inherent beauty like the drawing croquis technique.

At this event, Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation will actively promote croquis’s safety, efficacy, and technical strengths around the world by presenting the product’s features, procedures, and outcomes through video demo. In addition, the company will focus on improving croquis’s brand recognition through various methods such as playing videos and posting promotional materials in the venue. 

Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation has been conducting research since last year to obtain data for croquis’s safety and efficacy with health professionals in the US and France. Two surgeons, who are part of this research, will give a presentation on their experience of using croquis at IMCAS. 

An official from Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation said, “Clinical data is increasingly required for lift sutures around the world. Samyang Biopharmaceuticals Corporation will obtain data and recognition at the same time through overseas clinical trials and actively target the global market by diversifying its product portfolio.” 

IMCAS Paris, which is held in Paris every year, is the world's largest conference on cosmetic surgery. At IMCAS, which marks its 22nd anniversary this year, 300 companies around the world are expected to participate along with 11,000 cosmetic and plastic surgery specialists and corporate officials including 800 speakers.
